Dockt is a registered Australian business with an ABN. When you need more stock, or something is not right, you email us and hear back within two business days.
A tag off a marketplace does one thing. It holds a link until somebody overwrites it. These do that too, but you can also hand over one that carries its own Dockt address and can be repointed from a phone later. You choose which per sale.
Each plate is boxed with a quick start card inside. It looks like a product on a counter, which matters when you are asking someone to hand over money for it.
Buying direct from overseas means minimum orders in the hundreds, weeks of freight and a customs entry in your name. Here the smallest pack is five plates.
Faulty plates are replaced free for six months. Your buyer comes to you, you come to us, and we send a new one out.
Before a shop owner hands over money, they will look the product up. Being able to point at dockt.com.au, with a real product page, pricing and a returns policy behind it, closes sales an anonymous listing cannot.

Start with the places you already walk into. Cafes, barbers, nail salons, market stalls, gyms, dog groomers. Hand one over and let them try it on their own phone.
Hold your phone to a ready to write plate and put their link on it. For a Dockt linked one they enter the code on the back and choose where it goes. Either way it is working before you leave.

Sooner or later someone will want their own logo and colours on the plate instead of ours. You cannot fill that from your pack, because custom plates are printed to order.
Send the lead across to us instead. If it turns into an order, ten percent of it is yours.
This is open to anyone. You do not have to buy a pack, or have ever bought one, to send us a lead and be paid for it.
That is entirely up to you. You own the stock, so the price is yours to set and we have no say in it. Our own store price is on the plates page if you would like something to measure against.
Start with the five pack. It is small enough to move in a week or two and it will tell you whether this suits you before you commit to anything larger. We cannot take unsold stock back, so please do not order more than you are comfortable with.
To buy a pack and sell it on, no. You are buying goods and selling them, the same as anyone at a market. If it turns into regular income, it is worth getting an ABN. It is free and takes about five minutes online. One exception: we do need an ABN before we can pay you a cut on a custom order, because without one the tax office requires us to withhold almost half of it. We cannot give tax advice, so please check with an accountant.
Your buyer comes to you, because you are the one who sold it to them. You come to us and we replace it. That is how it works with anything you buy to resell, and it is why faulty stock sits with us rather than with you.
That depends which of the two you sell them. A ready to write plate has their link written straight onto it and there is nothing ongoing to pay, ever. A Dockt linked plate points at a Dockt address instead, and being able to change that destination later and see the tap count is the Smart Plan at nine dollars a month. Sell whichever suits the person in front of you.
Ask what they want it to point at. A Google review page never changes, so a ready to write plate is the simpler sell and costs them nothing once they have bought it. A venue that will swing it to a booking page over winter, or run something for a weekend, or wants to know how many people actually tapped it, wants the Dockt linked one. If you are not sure, take a mix and decide at the counter.
NFC Tools, a free app on iPhone and Android. You open it, paste in the link, and hold the plate against the back of your phone. The video we send you walks through the whole thing, including locking the plate afterwards so it cannot be changed by anyone who walks past.
The standard Review Plate. It carries our design and a code that belongs to that plate and no other. If someone wants their own logo and colours on it, that is a custom order and you pass it across to us.
Yes. Plates and the software are separate things, and a venue can buy either one without the other.
You already are. You bought the plates, so whatever your buyer pays you is yours on the spot. The only money moving the other way is the cut on custom orders, and that goes out once the venue has paid us.
